Tidal Energy Project in Former Soviet Union

A pilot tidal power station was built up in Gicelaya Bay in Soviet Union in 1968. The reinforced concrete chamber was constructed on a dry dock near Moormasque, in which was installed a bulb-type turbine with the capacity of 400kW. Then the whole chamber was tugged to the place by a towboat and sucked into sand groundwork prepared in advance. Some buoys can be used to decline the draft of the chamber structure and keep it steady in transportation.
